Do you remember when you got your first wristwatch? Most young children tend to get their first one sometime between the ages of 4 and 6. In many cases it’s a digital version, for thanks to technology, it’s much easier for a young child to learn how to tell time. Eventually, however, your parents or guardians wanted you to learn how to tell time on an analog, and there was a valid reason for that: an analog looks much nicer than a digital 90% of the time.

Most of the models that you’ll see are analog, almost as though you’re considered to be “unmanly” if you have a digital. In reality, though, most men who have a wristwatch in the business world do have an analog style because it does give an air of being more sophisticated. It’s not only a men’s watch that looks great as an analog style, however, but also women’s models.

History

If you’ve heard of the name Citizen before, it’s because they’ve been creating timepieces that are loved around the world for a long time. Starting in 1918, when the company was known as Shokosha Watch Research Institute, the Citizen watch company has been creating models that are reliable and that look great. It was in 1930, shortly after they changed their name, that the company became known around the world for creating amazing wristwatches, as before that date they, along with most other companies, were creating pocket models for men.

Now you can find Citizen in almost every direction you turn. You may find them on a man who is wearing them in an advertisement, or on a woman in a business meeting. An old friend may be wearing one when she travels to a wedding, and it’s not uncommon for teens to get one as a graduation gift.

Movement

The Citizen Lucca watch is one made by this brand that is designed specifically for women. These have as simplistic almost masculine style while, at the same time, remaining simplistic. The face has three hands, each of which is designed to move smoothly thanks to the ingenious engineering inside of the watch. Powered by the unique Eco-Drive technology, you’ll find this model never needs winding or battery replacement.

Style

The style of the mne’s watches are very simple. With a round face, this looks, at first glance, as though it could be worn by any popular and well-off business man. A closer look, however, reveals the feminine touches on these, including the smaller size wrist band, the more lustrous faces, and the small diamonds that rest on the beveled edges. They come in both gold and a mixture of gold and silver, making it easy for a woman to match her Citizen Lucca watch with her outfit, no matter color, or style, she happens to be wearing. These are even delicate and beautiful enough to wear with a dress on a formal occasion.

What They’re Known For

The Citizen Lucca are known most for being the feminine style that works well for women in the business world, as they are feminine without being frilly. As with all products from Citizen, they’re known for being sturdy and solid, and for lasting well beyond the time frame when many other company’s timepieces would last, making them not only beautiful to own, but extremely practical as well, especially when you’re dealing with the lower prices that the Lucca style has associated with them.

When was the last time that you looked at your wrist? If you’re like millions of people around the world, you’ve likely looked to your wrist at least five times a day, every day, for most of your life. Starting from when we’re young, we crave to have an idea as to what time it is. Young children often use digital watches now in order to learn how to tell time easier, but years ago there was no such thing as a digital, and children had to learn how to read an analog version, much like the same type that their parents wore.

Wristwatches, though, have changed immensely from what they were when we were young. As children any one, especially those that were brightly colored and, for young girls, that had bands made with a jelly-like plastic material, were sought after. Now, however, mens watch products have become something that is worn not just to help a man to tell the time, but also to give him a touch of style.

History

In 1918, the Citizen watch company decided to jump into the industry and began creating pocket models for men. It was in 1924, however, when they struck gold by making a pocket model that they named the Citizen. Because of that model’s popularity, the company changed their name. Now, they are known around the world for being some of the most stylish and the most technical timepieces there are. They have changed the way that these timepieces are made, implementing solar power in order to keep their models running. Watches in their Eco-Drive range are powered using a special solar panel that is actually hidden under the face, making it easy to keep your timepiece in perfect working order at all times.

Movement

The Citizen Riva Chronograph watch is a series from the company that has become popular among those who are looking for a business look with a touch of class added to it. Powered by the unique Eco-Drive movement, no matter whether they’re for women or are mens watches, are created with the company’s popular four window system. The first window holds the main feature, allowing you to know what time it is with sleek, easy movement of the hands. The other three windows, however, house different features, including a perpetual calendar, a stop watch, and a calendar that reminds you of the date.

Style

Citizen Riva Chronograph watches are known as much for their style, however, as for their face. They have metal link bands, colored in both steel and in gold, and incorporate diamonds into the frame of the watch face. There are anywhere from 30 – 40 small diamonds that are set around the bezel, making this style the perfect dress timepiece for a business meeting or for a special occasion. Both the ladies style, and the men’s style, is water resistant and is designed to not only look great, but to last for a very long time.

What They Are Known For

This brand has always been, and will always be known for quality, but the series is known for being not only stylish, but glamorous as well. Adding a touch of glamour to anyone’s regular day is a good idea, and while these will work well for an everyday basis, they’re mainly designed for special occasions, so that the wearer can sparkle as well as know what time it is. As beautiful as they are durable, they’re the ideal purchase.

Almost every day you look at the time to see if you’re finally able to leave and head home, or if you’ve still got time left. Some people look at the clock on the wall, others look at the bottom of their computer screen. Many, however, look on their wrist. Wristwatches have been used for hundreds of years, but until the 1920’s they were always worn in the pocket. Shortly before World War I, however, women began to wear them on their wrists. At the time it was considered to be a passing fad, and more than one many said that he would have to put a skirt on if he were to wear a wristwatch. At that time, mens watches in this fashion simply weren’t popular.

During World War I, however, soldiers realized that it was fairly difficult to see what time it was with a pocket version. They often had to carry a number of other items with them, and they realized that one would be the perfect way to be able to tell the time while they had their hands full. They did this by taking their pocket models and by putting them into leather straps that had a cupped shape to them, allowing them to wear them on their wrist during battle.

History
As with everything, the watch then went through an evolutionary stage. The inside of the wristwatch, which is what keeps the time going, changed to become something much more accurate, and the outside of began to vary as well, as both men and women were wearing them. Soon manufacturers realized that they could make a living off of designing different models, as they began to become not only a necessary way to tell time, but also a fashion accessory. This is how Citizen watches came to be.

The company was started in 1918 in Tokyo, Japan, and was originally founded as the Shokosha Watch Research Institute. In 1930, however, the name of the company was changed to Citizen, and since then it has become one of the largest producers of timepieces in the world.
Movement
The Citizen Stiletto watch is one of the more popular collections from this brand. Older models feature an analog-quartz movement, while the latest models feature the patented Eco-Drive technology. In general terms, though, these are all the most well known for their beautiful design as well as for their smooth, yet durable style.
Style
Unlike other collections that you may find, Citizen Stiletto watches have styles for both men and women to wear. Some models, such as the Eco-Drive Stainless Rectangular Gold Tone have a square shape and are often reflective of a singular need such as formal or business dress. Other men, however, prefer the circular face, and although most of the models have a rectangular face, there are some that have the circular face to help meet the needs of more individuals. All of them, however, offer sleek styling that is ideal for almost any occasion.
What They Are Known For
It is known for being not only beautiful, but affordable. Unlike some luxury models that extremely expensive, the style as a whole is aesthetically-pleasing yet not as pricey as some models. Typically light-weight, it is scratch-resistant to offer a higher level of durability. Most are water-resistant to some degree, and as with all models from this brand, virtually maintenance free. Often a bit understated, this is the ideal compliment to almost any wardrobe ensemble.

We have become a world of people who want to know what time it is every minute of the day. Fortunately watch manufacturers have decided to oblige us by creating mens watches that are able to work under a multitude of different conditions, including ones that function at higher altitudes, models that work in space, and even styles that manage to hold their own underwater.

History

Decades ago, however, timepieces certainly weren’t waterproof. In fact, to bring a men’s watch anywhere near water was to court disaster. Eventually, however, the military realized that their soldiers who were in the water on a regular basis, mainly those in the navy and the SEALS, needed a timepiece that would continue to function even in the most difficult conditions. In 1932, watchmakers responded by designing models that could tackle the depths of the ocean without halting.

Now models from many companies, including Citizen watches, are designed to work in both wet and dry conditions. The process is a fairly simple one. By creating a solid seal on the timepiece’s casing, they instantly become waterproof as nothing can get through the face or the back of the model. If water were to leak into the inner workings, the entire model might still be destroyed, but the strength of the casing ensures that won’t happen.

While you can buy inexpensive watches that are not water resistant, most luxury watches are due to the simple fact that the companies know that their consumers are simply unwilling to pay high prices for timepieces that may cease to function at the first sign of a storm. There is, however, a catch with most water resistant models. Before purchase, it is essential to do the research to make certain the model meets your requirements in terms of depth. Some models are simply made to survive a short burst of rain. Others, however, are specifically designed for diving, and understanding the difference between the two is important.

Movement

Citizen Aqualand watches are designed to be water resistant. The line encompasses a number of models, and some are resistant to only a few hundred meters, while others are resistant to 990 feet or further, making the Citizen Aqualand watch the type that is perfect for any experienced diver who likes to dive to deep depths, but who doesn’t want to be burdened with bulky diving styles.

Powered by the unique Eco-Drive movement, this is one model you can count on for unstoppable power. It literally absorbs light (both from the sun and artificial sources) to power itself, so you’ll never have to worry about pesky batteries or ineffective movements.
Citizen watch models are made using a number of different types of metals and rubbers, and while some have numerical watch faces, others have digital ones. Unlike some, these models are designed simply, with only the numbers on the watch face that are necessary in order to tell time. Most of them are made using a non-reflective mineral glass crystal so that any light that the diver uses won’t make it more difficult to see the face.

Style

The Citizen Aqualand watches are extremely stylish in a minimalist sense. Their faces are one simple color, usually black or white, and they often have few or no numbers. The model itself is designed for efficiency as well as extreme water resistance without being bulky or unfashionable.

What It Is Known For

A Citizen Aqualand watch is, obviously, known for being a water resistant model. But there’s more to this than the idea that you can simply put it in water. The other real selling point is that it runs continually through solar power and which is reliable as well as attractive to wear. It’s the ideal model for any man who likes wearing fine, designer timepieces, as well as for a man who enjoys taking a dive now and again and who doesn’t want to have to be bothered changing his watch. For both business and casual styles, this is the perfect model.
