Guess

If you grew up during the 1980’s or if you have a clear memory of that time period, you likely owned at least one pair of Guess clothing. The brand came to be known as the preeminent youth brand of the decade, and ever since then, they have dominated malls and raked in millions. After conquering the world of youth fashion, they moved on to timepieces, and today, they are one of the most popular brands in the world thanks to their original designs and affordable prices. Even if you don’t own one of their models, chances are, you know someone who does.

What We Love About Guess

There is a lot to love about Guess watches. Perhaps the most popular single reason has to do with the fact that they are a recognizable brand name that you could wear for an affordable price. Let’s face it, kids and teens demand more than just clothes these days, they demand to look good, but not every family can afford high end names and this brand was always a happy compromise. Guess has done a great job of extending that quality and likeability to their timepieces and they stand today as one of the most popular brands in the world.

Since there is always one of this brand’s stores in a mall near you, it is easy to find their products and easy to get them repaired should one break. If only every brand of timepiece could have that level of service. Even high end brands wish they could offer thousands of stores nationwide. This company also has an excellent website that you can use to order the latest models as well as to find out where your nearest store is in case you want to make your purchase in person.

Some Things We Don’t Like About Guess

There is very little to criticize when it comes to Guess watches. They are durable, well made and affordable to almost anyone. Perhaps the only real criticism is that they may not be as durable as a timepiece as you would pay tens of thousands of dollars for, but that is to be expected. No brand could accomplish that task, so it is not really a valid criticism. What this brand does better than any other is mass market their product so that every kid over the age of 8 wants one. You can bet Gucci and Rolex would do the same if they could.

History of the Brand

This company dates back to 1981 and it didn’t take very long for it to become a household name. By the mid-1980’s, there were stores in malls across the country, and every 13yr old with an allowance or babysitting money would rush there on a Saturday afternoon to see what was new. Needless to say, this company is now incredibly wealthy and they continue to do bang up business by providing affordable clothing and timepieces of excellent quality. Their business is likely a model for thousands of others who want to be household names, too.
