With the brand’s roots spreading out from post-war Paris and reaching into present-day haute couture, this line of mens watches has exquisite style. The brand has been a leading fashion house since the introduction of its “New Look” at the end of World War II. Timepieces have become an important accessory within the brand and its designers demand that they be produced with the highest quality. No detail is overlook and no flaw is accepted. The founder may have passed on but the legacy of excellence that he established lives on in every model produced by his namesake company.

What We Love About Christian Dior
A brand with uncompromising style, this company has made a name for itself in both haute couture and ready-to-wear clothing. It was first famed for its disregard of the established rules in favor of a new take on old ideas. The designer defied the rules of war rationing in his first and most noted line, using voluminous amounts of fabric in his skirts and dresses. Christian Dior watches still have that small streak of defiance that helps them push the style envelope and create a timepiece that is worthy of wearing the founder’s name on the dial.

The brand is also uncompromising when it comes to quality. Its chief designer, John Galliano, supervises the creation of its timepieces. The company does not waver in its commitment to maintaining a line of fine luxury products, down to the smallest detail. No accessory is too small to escape the watchful eyes of this company’s designers. Details are significant in these timepieces. Touches like crystals or diamonds adorning the dial are carefully scrutinized. Materials used are first rate quality. Stainless steel, leather and crystals all make regular appearances within this line. Some models use high-end automatic movements while other use more affordable quartz.
Some Things We Don’t Like About Christian Dior
For a brand more famous for its clothing than its timepieces, the price for a Christian Dior is fairly high. Though exacting standards are required by the company’s leadership, the brand is not manufacturing or assembling its own components or finished products. The timepieces made under license of this brand name are fashionable and attractive, but many other brands sell the same of better timepieces for a similar price. The cost for these models lies primarily in the name of the brand and the reputation of the fashion house. The technology is good, but there are others who have far better men’s watch ideas.
History of the Brand
Christian Dior was born into a wealthy family in 1905. As a young man with no need to work he enjoyed the life of Paris and mingled with writers and artists. The Great Depression crippled his family’s enterprises. Finally needing employment, Dior capitalized on his experience with the finer things and apprenticed himself to a fashion house but was instead drafted into service during World War II. Upon his return to Paris, he once again found work as a design assistant and soon founded his own line. This brand suffered after Dior’s death in 1957 but was revitalized in the 80s by new ownership and thrives as a luxury brand today.
